The tradition of Willy Ryan’s Rooster’s Market is rooted in the rich history of serving our friends and neighbors in the White Plains community. The original tenant of our building was a Gristedes grocer for over 50 years. In 1998 a patron, Chuck Hill, recognized this quaint spot’s potential to become a true community gathering place and founded Rooster’s Market adding farmhouse décor and American style cuisine. At the time, Rooster’s was managed by Douglas Braziller and Nello Burgio until they bought the business together in 2003 and expanded the menu to include a wide array of options, many of which were passed on from their families, satisfying just about every taste. They continued to provide the neighborhood with a great place to eat and shop and created an atmosphere that felt as if everyone you meet was not just a neighbor, but a friend- an ideal that holds true today.

Willy Ryan followed in his older siblings’ footsteps, both of whom worked at Rooster’s Market throughout high school, joining the team as a stock boy in 2005 at the young age of 12. Willy had always loved the market and worked there through high school and college taking on many roles;

he always dreamed of attaining the role of store owner someday.

 

In February of 2014, Willy realized this dream when he and Doug became partners in the ownership of the store. In just three short years, Willy acquired the rest of the company and assumed full ownership of the market. Fortunately, the tradition continues as Doug and Nello remain part of the

Rooster’s family and run the day-to-day operations of the business.

 

We like to share our story because our history inspires us to provide great food and service to friends and family every day. We invite you and your loved ones to our ever -growing community.  We have recently enhanced our menus, our appearance, our service, and our products as we strive to

improve the experience at our neighborhood Market.
